Help with fashion!?!PLEASE?

Well, I'm in highschool my friend Alli, always calls me tacky, and I'm pretty sure she means no sense of style. She always says it, but idk whether I'm just leeting it get to me. I wear shorts at home all the time, but when I go to school I always wear flare jeans, black sneakers, and a dark magenta jacket that a little too big, with my hair down. I have black hair, tan skin. I know I dress bad, but alot of people say that I'm pretty, and I think it's just my clothes. I can't help it though because I can't just go buy new clothes.
Any Ideas about what i can wear with flare jeans that will look nice. And is there anything I can do to my hair? Also, do you think it will help if I get rid of the jacket and wear one that's more fitted?

Flare jeans are cute with a fitted jacket so, ya, that's a good idea. I like the ones that have a print so they look different. Fitted jackets look fun over camis that are layered - you know, so then you have more colors And I generally like wearing fitted shirts, especially burn-out shirts, with my flare jeans.

Also you might want just wear some different things sometimes if you usually wear similar stuff, so you don't feel like you're bored with your clothes. Try getting some skinny jeans, wearing a dress with leggings (and a sweater if your school is cold like mine), and like the other ladies on here were saying different shoes looks more stylish too. I wear converse because they come in cute colors and prints, and people always say they're so cute. Flats are classy on everyone so those would be good - and they're comfy for school. I don't think heels are really worth it for school, except maybe once in a while.
